What is Pure Water?
Pure water (in window cleaning) is tap water that has been filtered to remove all minerals, salts and impurities — mainly calcium and magnesium that normally cause spotting and streaks.
Window cleaners produce it using a multi-stage filtration system:
-
Carbon filter – removes chlorine and chemicals
-
Reverse osmosis (RO) – removes most dissolved solids
-
De-ionisation (DI) resin – polishes the water to 0 parts per million (0 ppm)
Why it cleans better
Normal tap water leaves marks because dissolved minerals stay behind when the water dries.
Pure water works differently:
-
It naturally attracts dirt and lifts it from the glass
-
It rinses frames and sills clean
-
It dries completely clear
-
No soap or chemicals needed
-
No wiping required
So the windows are left spot-free once dry.
Why is regular window cleaning good for your property?
Regular window cleaning isn’t just about appearance — it actually helps protect and maintain your property.
Prevents Glass Damage
Over time, dirt, dust, pollen, bird droppings and pollution build up on the glass. These contain minerals and acids that slowly etch into the surface, permanently marking the windows. Regular cleaning removes these before damage occurs.
Protects Frames and Seals
Frames and rubber seals collect grime, algae and moisture. Left untreated, this can cause:
-
Discoloration
-
Seal deterioration
-
Rot on wooden frames
-
Reduced window lifespan
Keeping them clean helps windows last longer and operate properly.
Keeps Gutters and Surroundings Clear
Debris from roofs often settles on window ledges and frames. Regular cleaning helps spot blocked gutters, leaks or early signs of exterior wear before they become costly repairs.
Improves Kerb Appeal
Clean windows instantly make a property look brighter, newer and well maintained — especially important for businesses or if you plan to sell or rent.
Lets More Natural Light In
Dirty glass can block a surprising amount of daylight. Clean windows make rooms brighter and can even help improve energy efficiency by maximizing natural light.
How often should I clean my windows?
Typical Recommendations
Every 4 weeks (Most Popular)
-
Keeps windows consistently clean
-
Prevents dirt buildup and staining
-
Best value over time
-
Ideal for most homes
Every 6/8 weeks
-
Still maintains a tidy appearance
-
Slight buildup between visits
-
Good balance of cost and maintenance

What is a pole fed system and why do we use it?
A water-fed pole system is a modern window cleaning method that uses lightweight telescopic poles with a soft brush on the end. Purified (pure) water is pumped through the pole and onto the glass while the brush gently agitates and lifts the dirt.
The windows are then rinsed with pure water and left to dry naturally — leaving a spotless, streak-free finish without needing cloths or squeegees.
We use it because;
Safer
-
Windows can be cleaned from the ground
-
No ladders against your property
-
Reduced risk of damage to gutters, tiles and flowerbeds
Better Results
-
Cleans glass, frames and sills every visit

Pure water dries clear with no smears
-
Reaches difficult and high windows easily

More Reliable
-
Works in most weather conditions
-
Consistent finish every clean
-
Perfect for regular maintenance cleaning
Why is Gutter Clearing Important?
Gutters protect your property by safely carrying rainwater away from the roof and foundations. When they become blocked with leaves, moss and debris, water can no longer drain properly — and this is when damage starts.
Prevents Damp and Internal Leaks
Blocked gutters overflow and allow water to run down walls and into the building. This can lead to:
-
Damp patches
-
Mould growth
-
Peeling paint and plaster damage
Protects Roof and Fascias
Standing water sits behind the fascia boards and under roof tiles. Over time this causes:
-
Rotting timber
-
Rusted brackets
-
Roofline deterioration
Prevents Structural Damage
Water spilling near the base of the building can soak into foundations and brickwork, which may cause cracking or movement over time — a much more expensive repair than a simple gutter clear.
Stops Pest Nesting
Blocked gutters filled with wet debris create the perfect environment for insects, birds and even rodents to nest.
Avoids Costly Repairs
Regular clearing is preventative maintenance. A small routine clean helps avoid major repairs to roofs, plaster, and brickwork later.
Should I have my solar panels cleaned?
Usually yes — especially in the UK.
Solar panels don’t stay clean on their own. Rain helps, but it doesn’t remove the film of dust, pollen, traffic pollution, bird droppings and algae that slowly builds up on the glass.
Even a light layer reduces how much sunlight reaches the cells.
What happens if they aren’t cleaned?
-
Reduced energy output
-
Lower savings on your electricity bill
-
Uneven performance between panels (hot spots)
-
Long-term staining on the glass
In many cases panels can lose 5–20% efficiency over time depending on location (near trees, main roads, or lots of birds = faster buildup).
How often should they be cleaned?
Typical UK recommendation:
-
Every 12 months – most homes
-
Every 6 months – near trees, farms, or heavy traffic
-
After long dry summers – dust film builds quickly
